Continuous Improvement

Tecknic takes a holistic approach to continuous improvement.

By initially conducting a diagnostic of your organisation’s current state Tecknic develops performance baseline and benchmark metrics that set the stage for the continuous improvement journey. To bring employees along we implement comprehensive change management strategies for the route ahead.

The process is designed to actively involve all stakeholders in each stage. Focus direction for the transformation teams, front-line supervision and upper management towards continuous improvement. Unlike process maps that are limited to mapping the sequence of tasks that are performed to complete a procedure or process, value-stream mapping provides the means to display the interaction between multiple functions within the business process as well as ancillary functions such as planning, scheduling, and inventory management, etc. The entire value-stream mapping process utilises graphical depictions of limiting factors that all stakeholders can easily visualise. In turn the countermeasures are effectively scoped permitting implementation in a highly structured way that facilitates culture change within the organisation and serves as a dashboard to monitor and continuously improve the process.

Why Manage Change?

Change is a recognised constant with clear supporting evidence all around us in our environments, political systems, competitive forces, new product ideas, etc. etc… All of which presents many challenges of diverse intensity to today’s business managers. Therefore one sure requirement for successful business management is the ability to manage change and especially changes of major significance. Since the nature of such changes necessitates various change stages and potential costly consequences for failures, managers need systematic and contemporary methodologies for managing change programmes. By using such methods, managers would avoid costly and sometimes fatal mistakes. Moreover, managers would be able to effect sustainable changes that result in efficient processes, effective structures, motivated people, and flourishing organisations.

The moving of an organisation from its current state to its desired future state however is a complex process which generally requires professional help. As with any change programme issues can be challenging depending on the levels of environmental forces and mechanisms that hold an organisation in its current state. Tecknic have therefore carefully crafted a 9 step change programme integrated into their operations service models to
support achieving the desired future state.
